Room-by-room tour of The Malbec

You could say the Malbec, is full-bodied and distinctive – just like one of your favourite Margaret River reds.

It looks pretty cool too, thanks to our interior stylist, Prince Design, who have given this Dalyellup display a funky warehouse vibe with charcoal-grey, fresh white, timber, punches of colour and lots of texture.

It’s very cool, a little bit retro and very, very inviting.

So let’s take a room-by-room tour, starting at the front door.

Because first impressions count

You’ll probably have noticed already that the Malbec is no run-of-the-mill country home. We’ve given this contemporary design sharp street appeal with timber panelling, geometric lines, and accents in black, steel and white. Step inside and you’ll be greeted by a gallery-style passageway that gives a taste of the big free-flowing spaces to come.

Something for the kids

The three minor bedrooms have been grouped at the front of the home, along with a practical internet zone or study area. A wall of glass in the internet zone offers up a garden view beyond the computer or school books, helping to keep the vibe cool, calm and thoughtful.

A luxurious master retreat

Taking inspiration from boutique hotels across the globe, the Malbec’s sophisticated master suite features a deluxe ensuite with a freestanding bath, twin vanities and a walk-in shower. A dressing room and high ceilings complete the 5-star fit-out.

For movies, cocktails and more

Want space for a movie on the big screen? Or that pool table you’ve been eyeballing? Or maybe it’s a library-style second sitting room that’s on your wish list? The entertainment room in the central section of the home can be kitted out to meet a variety of ideas and inspiration. We’ve added a chic built-in bar that connects the entertainment room with the free-forming living area.

For everyday living and entertaining

At the end of the gallery-style passageway, you’ll find the Malbec opening up into a free-flowing kitchen, living and dining area that spans the full width of the home. Maximising a backyard view and northern orientation, this welcoming everyday space boasts impressively high ceilings and lots and lots of glass. The taller-than-average windows and sliding doors really open up the space and let natural light flood in.

The chef’s domain

The kitchen in the Malbec is a standout, with long stretches of workbench, plenty of storage and open shelves for those all-important cookbooks. There’s a scullery where you can set up bulky appliances and organise all your pantry essentials, along with easy access to the laundry to complete this hardworking utility zone.

Outdoor living goes large

Not only have we added a particularly spacious alfresco to the back of the Malbec, but we’ve also made sure the indoor/outdoor flow is seamless. There’s a big bank of sliding doors opening up the living area to the stylish outdoor room, as well as a door connecting the kitchen to the alfresco. Our customers say this additional access is a real bonus when dining outdoors or rustling up something on the barbecue. Just like the indoor living area, the outside living space stretches the full width of the house, giving you plenty of room to set up a table and chairs as well as an outdoor lounge suite.
