Prepare your home for the festive season

For most of us, the summer holidays mean family barbecues, friends over to catch up and kids’ sleepovers. We all want to dress to impress so here are some cleaning tips to get you ready for the influx of guests this season!

1. Consider adding a fresh coat of paint or some Christmas decorations to your front door. First impressions count!

2. Make the most of this hot weather and entertain your holiday guests outside. Purchase some LED fairy lights to brighten up your alfresco or light up your garden with solar-powered garden lights.

3. Sparkling windows. So we heard on the grapevine that you don’t need to invest in expensive window cleaners and that the professionals actually lean toward using dishwashing detergent to get the best clean! Morning Fresh and Palmolive are recommended, who’d have thought?

4. Try to keep the hallway clutter-free by adding a small shoe rack and coat hooks for guests. While they most likely won’t be wearing coats in summer it’s a great place to store handbags and other unwanted accessories.

5. Add some scented soy candles to the dining table to freshen up the room and create a homely atmosphere!
